counting down the days...

...9 days. NINE. We have been living in a hotel for over a month and we are on the final countdown. We have already met some awesome friends and Landin has had some fun playdates. Here are the pictures of our final "hotel living" days.

Can't you see the sunshine. Can't you just feel the moon shining...

Yes, I'm gone to Carolina in my mind.

NORTH CAROLINA! I had been waiting for this trip since Christmas, and it was finally here. Unfortunately, Daniel didn't get to come which was bad for two reasons. One, I had to be away from Daniel for the first time since he got back from Iraq in 2012 and two, I had to fly with Landin all. by. myself. Holy cow...can you say stressful? :)

But, he did good and slept on both plane rides (which I know the people beside me were thankful for!) and we made it safe and sounds to a stormy North Carolina...what a welcome!

My little sister graduated! I can't believe she is all grown up! :( She is such a beautiful and mature young lady and I love her so much...

This post also covers my first Mother's day. I got to spend the morning with my mom and nanny and the evening with my husband. I also got to fly from NC to TX with my sweet little boy and get tons of alone time snuggles with him...it was all in all a spectacular day! Anyway, here are the pictures from our awesome visit home!

Landin and his dad reading in the airport the morning we flew to NC. I love seeing the two of them together. This is one of my favorite pictures of them!

Since Dad had to be at work, we had a little bit of a wait at the airport, but Landin did GREAT! especially with his little snacks to hold him over!

Crawling all around the terminal can wear a kid out. Sleeping on the plane!

Landin got to meet a magnificent woman who has known me since I was little :)

Landin loved Ashley, and I think the feeling was mutual. They were super awesome together.

For Dad...we missed you!

Life is pretty amazing. And having this to look back on will be amazing for both Daniel and I and hopefully Landin too!

Landin Gregory,
you are such a special boy and I love you so much!

Cornyval, with a little bit of life thrown in.

Cornyval? Yes, there is such a thing. Although I am positive there is not such a word. But this thing was so much fun for our family and a much needed break from the 24/7 hotel life we were living. There is a neighboring town (literally 5 minutes from our house, if that) named Helotes. Helotes has a carnival. That carnival is named Cornyval. Apparently they are known for their corn? Makes sense to us, it is just a wee bit weird, no? Anyway, we decided to venture over on the first day...Thankfully! It was the only day of free admission so all we had to pay for was food and let's face it, hotel living we eat out anyway and is there anything better than a smoked kabob from a carnival? Not to us at least...the food was delicious! As for Landin, he loved the petting zoo. He didn't get to pet your typical pets {at least not where I come from} but instead got to touch turtles, snakes and a WALLABY! how awesome!! So, here are some pictures from the beginning of May. Enjoy!

April showers bring May flowers...

This post will polish off the end of the month of April! We were getting really antsy about the closing of our house and our visit to North Carolina. We also did a little hotel hopping which was kind of fun but really stressful! So here they are...the last week or so of April 2012.

115/366
Seriously? Is he not the cutest? Landin took to playing with anything and everything that was not his toy. But we figured...what harm can a red solo cup do? :)

116/366
HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY AUNTIE KELLYNNE!!
Like father, like son. I love these two guys.

117/366
Once again, seriously? How stinkin' cute is my son? I could look at this picture all day long. When Landin is excited, you definitely will know it!

118/366
A little shopping day with mom! He does so well out at all the shops. He was playing peek-a-boo with himself in the mirror 5 minutes before this. He loves posing for the camera (and I like to tell myself he especially poses well for pictures with mom!)

119/366
The weather was nice so we went for a walk. I know you would probably think, "Texas, of course it was nice" but that isn't true. By nice I don't just mean not raining, I mean not super humid and hot either. :) That, my friends, is a good Texas day!

120/366
A big day for us! We had the inspection on what will soon be our house. It turned out better than we could have even hoped...so, we snapped a photo to document our happiness!

121/366
Hotel hanging out. We spent the day relaxing in the cool hotel. It was a hot one today! I let Landin enjoy a little "shirt off" time which he has decided is his favorite time of the day!

122/366
The last day in April. Tomorrow will finally be the month that we close and move into our house! yayy!
We went to church and Landin actually starting really interacting with other boys! Go Landin!

I'll start May tomorrow...it was a big month for us so I will be doing more separate posts! For now, I am going to get my son up from his nap so we can cuddle. I can't believe I only have two weeks left before my baby is one.<3
{fastest year of my life.}
